 What is the Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC)?

The PDC is an information packed, 72 hour course resulting in a Permaculture Design Certificate. The PDC is the foundation for further permaculture work and study and is a prerequisite for the diploma in permaculture design, offered through The Permaculture Institute in Australia.

It is estimated that there are over 750,000 graduates of the PDC world wide. Who represent some of the globes most active, on the ground, and practical earth repair workers. Permaculture design consultants are utilized by both government and non-government organizations for projects of all shapes and sizes. The graduates of the PDC quickly move on to aid work, creating new business alternatives and forming community groups of committed people working together to change the way we view and design our landscapes.

The course covers how to design, establish and sustain living systems for every climate and landscape on the planet. It includes the application of permaculture principles to food production, home design, construction, energy conservation and generation, and explores alternative economic structures and legal strategies supporting permaculture solutions.

Pacific Permaculture's offering of the PDC is a practical course, which follows "Permaculture A Designers' Manual," as set forth by Bill Mollison. Every chapter is covered in detailed ensuring the graduating student is fully equipped to design for all circumstances and projects.

Permaculture is for EVERYONE, regardless of background, education, profession, or experience. Be you a high school graduate, an accountant of 25 years, long time farmer, land owner or renter; the PDC will give you the perspective and tools needed to put your skills and passion for the environment and people, towards the ends of an improved household economy, earth repair and community benefit.

Pacific Permaculture offers the course as either an intensive two week residential course or a part time course in three week long modules.
